With more than 100 nationalities and 96 spoken languages among its residents, Los Angeles is one of the most complex and diverse cities in the world. Located three miles from downtown, 12 miles from the beach, and 60 miles from both deserts and snow-capped mountains, the University of Southern California offers students the opportunity to enjoy the cultural richness of a major city coupled with L.A.’s outdoor lifestyle and pleasant, sunny weather.

“My favorite thing about L.A. is that every part of the city is so distinct and has its own feel and it’s own culture, so you can always have the excitement of going to explore somewhere new and being surprised by how different it is from everywhere else you’ve been in Los Angeles,” says Sarah McMinimy, BS ’15.

As the entertainment capital of the world, L.A. is home to renowned sports, music and theater venues, museums, and a thriving restaurant scene. An ever-expanding public transit system allows students to easily explore the city’s many, internationally flavored neighborhoods.

“One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is the diversity of people, culture, and especially food! It has really opened my eyes to so many different types of people and culture — it is a constant learning environment,” says Jennifer Wong, BS ’14, MHA ’15.

There’s no better place to learn about policy, planning, and development than Los Angeles, the world-class metropolis that is home to the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. For the present and future leaders who attend USC Price, the school’s location at the heart of L.A. also provides endless opportunities to learn from distinguished faculty, access one of the most extensive and influential professional networks in the world, and learn in the living classroom that is L.A.
