Big Sunday 2010
On May 1, 2010 nearly 25 volunteers from USC Sol Price School of Public Policy partnered with Inner City Education Foundation (ICEF) Public Schools to beautify the Frederick Douglass Academy campus, as part of Big Sunday Weekend – the largest regional community service event in America. The group planted flowers and small trees, repainted the fence, pulled out weeds, scrubbed walls, and cleaned up around campus. At the end of all the projects, team members from ICEF kindly treated all the volunteers to pizza. It was, certainly, a rewarding and uplifting experience.
