The Price Athenian Society is the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy’s premier organization connecting the people, resources and opportunities that advance the mission of the School.
As the premier philanthropic support group for the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, the Athenian Society supports academic excellence and the continued growth of USC Price. The Athenian Society seeks to provide a meaningful community for those who believe in the mission, vision, and potential of USC Price and who wish to become involved in the life of the school.
The Athenian Society invites support at various levels. Alumni, parents, community and business leaders, and friends of USC Price will find membership rewarding. Funds raised for the annual fund through membership in the Athenian Society help provide student scholarships, enable us to carry out the initiatives of the Dean, and strengthen our core areas of public administration, public policy, planning, real estate development, and health administration.
In addition to significantly impacting USC Price and supporting the initiatives of the school, Athenian Society members also receive a variety of membership benefits that include:
- Pride in supporting a premier academic institution strongly committed to educating tomorrow’s leaders to address key societal issues
- Signature Athenian Society lapel pin and name listed on the USC Price annual honor roll
- Invitations to premier USC Price events and Trojan Family events with preferred seating when available
- Invitations to exclusive Athenian Society member events including forums and discussions with community and business leaders
Thank you for your support of the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy!
The Athenian Oath
We will never bring disgrace on this our City by an act of dishonesty or cowardice. We will fight for the ideals and Sacred Things of the City both alone and with many. We will revere and obey the City’s laws, and will do our best to incite a like reverence and respect in those above us who are prone to annul them or set them at naught. We will strive increasingly to quicken the public’s sense of civic duty. Thus in all these ways we will transmit this City, not only not less, but greater and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.
The name of the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy Athenian Society grew out of the oath taken by the citizens of ancient Athens. To this day, the oath continues to be referenced by leaders in public service as an exemplary symbol of civic duty. As the premier philanthropic organization for the school, we subscribe to this oath.
