Career Services Staff Bios
Monica Bray joined the Sol Price School of Public Policy as Director of Career Services in December 2012. Prior to joining USC Price, she served as the Director of the Master of Public Policy Program in the Department of Health, Human Services, and Public Policy at California State University, Monterey Bay. She also served as the Director of Finance and Policy for the National Laboratory for Education Transformation and as an adjunct professor of finance at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. In addition, she was an assistant professor of economics and research methods at CSU Monterey Bay. Previously, Monica had an extensive career in financial services and wealth management, working with some of the most respected financial institutions in the US. She has also served as a strategic consultant for over a decade.
Monica received her Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy from USC in 2006. She also holds a master’s degree in Economics from USC and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC San Diego.
Monica has worked in the public, private, non-profit, and for-profit sectors and, in her role, makes connections with relevant organizations. Her broad background in policy analysis, strategic planning, international affairs, economics, financial management, and research methods provides extensive knowledge and insight into a vast array of careers and employers. She also has a strong understanding of the complex processes and conflicting options facing students making career decisions in our field.
Seema joined the Price School as Assistant Director of Career Services in May of 2012. She has a strong background in career services and student affairs, having served for four and a half years as a career services specialist and admissions recruiter at local colleges. Prior to beginning a career in student affairs, Seema was the Assistant Director of a learning center which provides educational services to K-12 students. In addition to obtaining her MPA degree with an emphasis in management and leadership, she is also graduate of USC’s Political Science undergraduate program, contributing to her passion and knowledge of the USC culture and the field of public administration. She also has a strong, personal interest in education which has led her to pursue volunteer work locally and internationally.
In her role, Seema provides career advisement and professional development to students, works closely with employers, and manages career services programming and events.
Lisa Luna has been part of the Career Services team since fall 2009. She has seven years of experience in higher education including career services, recruitment, and academic planning. In addition she spent five years in the healthcare industry serving as an office manager for a large private practice facility and as a freelance program coordinator for pharmaceutical sales force training.
Lisa received both of her degrees from the University of La Verne. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management with a concentration in Organizational Development.
As the Career Services Coordinator, she organizes Career Services events, maintains USC Price’s on-line job database PriceNet, coordinates the international summer internship programs, and provides student advisement.
Zarui Neksalyan joined the Sol Price School of Public Policy Office of Career Services as a Student Services Advisor in November 2011. Prior to joining our team, she worked at the Los Angeles Business Council as an Assistant Director of Policy and Programs, focusing on transportation, affordable housing, and sustainability issues. Zarui also has recent experience with the Metropolitan Transit Authority working on such programs as Bike to Work Day and the Bus Stop Signage Project.
Zarui, a progressive degree alum, holds a Bachelor of Science in Policy, Management and Planning, and a Master of Urban Planning from USC Price. During her time as a student here, she served as a student ambassador and worked in the Student Affairs department. She is currently a mentor in our Professional Mentor program.
In her role, Zarui provides career advising to students, helps with the Professional Mentor and Externship programs, and assists with other special projects.
