Biographical sketch

David Suarez, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at USC Price. He teaches courses on public management, organizational theory, and leadership in the nonprofit sector. His current work focuses primarily on the relationship between managerialism and organizational outcomes and the consequences of professionalization for the nonprofit sector. He is particularly interested in collaboration, advocacy, and civic engagement, issues that link nonprofits to public agencies and the policy process. Ongoing projects include research on: management in international and local NGOs; foundations and social justice grantmaking; public-nonprofit partnerships in national parks; education and the human rights movement. His work has been published in the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Administration & Society, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Voluntas, Sociology of Education and many additional outlets.
