Dear Price Community,
I am pleased to announce that Price Philanthropies Foundation has pledged a new gift to establish The Price Family Endowed Chair in the Price Center for Social Innovation. This generous gift affirms the Price family’s and the Foundation’s deep commitment to the Price School, and their ongoing support of the Center’s mission to address the intractable issues facing our world by developing innovative approaches designed to strengthen and support civil society.
The establishment of this endowed chair enables us to greatly expand the Center’s efforts to advance the theory and practice of social innovation by advancing scholarship in the field; training students and practitioners for public service leadership; and, turning ideas into reality through policy outreach and community partnerships.
We are deeply grateful to the Foundation and the Price family for their continued support. Their naming gift in 2011 helped to transform the School, contributing to our ascension in the rankings and to the growing visibility of our School. This gift establishing an endowed chair will not only allow us to attract a highly respected scholar to the School and the Center, but will enable us to exponentially increase the Center’s work and impact.
I want to acknowledge the excellent work of Gary Painter, Director of the Price Center for Social Innovation, and the staff team that has worked diligently to build the Center since its inception. Gary’s work, and that of the Center, was a significant factor in the Foundation’s decision to make an additional investment in the School and the Center.
Please join me in thanking the Price Philanthropies Foundation for their continued and ongoing partnership with the School and the Center.
Sincerely,
Jack H. Knott
Dean, Sol Price School of Public Policy
