Ginsburg pens op-ed supporting move away from fee-for-service medicine

The Wall Street Journal ran an op-ed by Professor Paul Ginsburg of the USC Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics on how medicine has changed, necessitating a movement away from fee-for-service payment plans. “Given medicine’’s growing complexity and the increasing number of Americans with chronic diseases, paying numerous providers to work independently on a fee-for-service, or FFS, basis makes little sense,” Ginsburg wrote.
