S. Gail Goldberg, executive director of the Urban Land Institute-Los Angeles and an advisory board member for the Master of Planning program at the USC Price School of Public Policy, has been inducted as a fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the professional institute of the American Planning Association.
AICP Fellowship – one of the institute’s highest honors – is awarded to planners who have significantly contributed to the field and society through professional excellence, teaching and mentorship, public and community service, research and leadership. Goldberg was chosen among the 40 honorees to deliver the induction ceremony address to the 2014 AICP College of Fellows Class at the National Planning Conference in Atlanta in April.
Goldberg’s distinguished career includes serving as the planning director of the City of Los Angeles and the City of San Diego. She has been in her current role as executive director of ULI-Los Angeles, a nonpartisan education and research institute providing objective analysis of urban planning, growth and development, since 2011.
As an integral member of USC Price’s MPL advisory board, Goldberg has worked with the board to provide direction to the program and create vital professional and academic opportunities for students.
