California Gov. Jerry Brown on July 2 appointed Dean Borg, an alumnus of the USC Price School of Public Policy, to serve as deputy director of the Division of Facility Planning, Construction and Management at the state’s Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Borg, 52, of Sacramento, has served as acting deputy director of the division since 2013 and was associate director from 2007 to 2013. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from USC Price in 1988.
From 1991 to 2007, Borg held several positions within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, including assistant deputy director at the Office of Facilities Management, chief of legislation for adult operations at the Office of Legislation, legislative coordinator at the Legislative Liaison Office and a manager of administration and planning and analyst at the Planning and Construction Division.
In addition, Borg was a recycling specialist at the California Department of Conservation Beverage Container Recycling Program from 1987 to 1991.
