Vice President of Operations
Health Care Partners
Suzanne Tinder is the VP of Operations for HealthCare Partners Medical Group. With over 20 years of medical group and IPA management experience, Ms. Tinder has served in various capacities at HealthCare Partners. In her current role, Ms. Tinder oversees operations for the South Bay – Long Beach region of HealthCare Partners, including 19 medical offices and 3 IPA networks that serve 200,000 HMO and patients in Southern California. Ms. Tinder served as the executive sponsor of the patient flow initiative at HealthCare Partners. Initiated in October of 1999, this project resulted in improvements in the patient’s experience – from the time the patient joins the medical group throughout their visit to their primary care physician – resulting in overall improvements in patient satisfaction, access, and utilization. Some of this work was highlighted in the article “Advanced Access: HealthCare Partners Sees Patients Same Day” in the February 2002 edition of the Group Practice Journal. She has also spoken nationally on practice redesign and ambulatory practice management, including consulting with Dr. Mark Murray and Associates on access improvement in New York, Ohio and California. Ms. Tinder also led the effort at HealthCare Partners to design and launch the Physician Information Portal, a secure, internet-based tool for HealthCare Partners’ affiliated physicians to receive timely information about their patients, allowing for point-of-care reminders and secure clinical data sharing. Ms. Tinder holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Southern California where she published “Lincoln Medical Center: The Role of an Inner-City Hospital” in Cases in Health Services Management, an analysis of strategic positioning of an inner-city hospital in a multi-facility healthcare organization.
