Dr. Keith Wilson has over twenty five years of experience in the health care industry; twenty one of which have been with Talbert Medical Group. In 1994, Dr. Wilson became the Chair of OB/GYN for FHP, California and the Chair of Perinatal & GYN services at FHP Hospital. In this capacity, Dr. Wilson started and chaired the GYN Tumor Board (1994 – 1996). In March of 1996, Dr. Wilson became President and Chair of Talbert Medical Group, which consisted of 22 medical centers in Southern California. In 1999, Dr. Wilson engineered the acquisition of Talbert Medical Group from MedPartners as an independent entity, where he continued to serve as President, Chairman and CEO until May, 2010 when he orchestrated a merger with HealthCare Partners. Today, Dr. Wilson serves as the Regional Medical Director of the newly formed Talbert Medical Group, Region 6 within HealthCare Partners.

Under Dr. Wilson’s leadership, Talbert became one of the first medical groups to implement a fully integrated electronic medical records system in 2005. In early 2008, Talbert Medical Group, in partnership with Healthways SilverSneakers™, opened its first Physical Therapy and Fitness Center developed especially for seniors. In 2009, Dr. Wilson opened Talbert Surgical Associates, an ambulatory surgical center serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Dr. Wilson did his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, majoring in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. In 1974, after his junior year, Dr. Wilson accepted early admission into Howard University College of Medicine. He received his MD from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC in 1981, where he also completed his internship. He concluded his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1985. Dr. Wilson was honored as best teaching resident, selected by the medical school students; was the executive chief resident of the program and was awarded best graduating resident by faculty. After receiving the highest in-service exam score in the history of the program (Committee for Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (97th percentile)), Dr. Wilson successfully organized and taught a preparatory course for residents that resulted in the highest program-wide performance in that program’s history.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Wilson has been an OB/GYN Surgeon since 1985. In 2001, Dr. Wilson was one of three individuals nationally honored with the Physician Executive Award of Excellence by the American College of Physician Executives and the Modern Physician magazine. He is the recipient of the 2010 USC Black Alumnus Award; the 2012 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Orange County Alumnae Chapter Impact Award and the 2012 National Medical Fellowship Champions of Health Award.

Dr. Wilson is the Chairman of the Financial Solvency Standards Board for the Department of Managed Health Care for the State of California. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board for the California Association of Physician Groups and sits on their Executive and Public Policy committees. He is the past Chairman of the Health-e-LA Steering Committee and the past Chairman of the Hospice Touch Board of Directors. Dr. Wilson is a board member of the Spencer Hospice Foundation and is a member of the American Medical Association, National Medical Association, Orange County Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
