Critical Leadership Training

The critical leadership training required to work across sectors to solve public problems and foster community betterment infuses USC Price’s MPA program, in both curricular and co-curricular activities.

  • Leadership skill development tracks through core courses such as Cross-Sectoral Leadership, Public Administration and Society, and our capstone, Professional Practice in Public Administration, in which students develop a consultation project for a real client.
  • Our cutting-edge MPA laboratory develops intellectual fundamental in the areas of research, writing, and communications, as well as focused workshops in target areas such as network development and political communications.
  • Students develop expertise by focusing on specializations such as nonprofit management, local government or political management. For students who are interested in more advanced training, we offer several certificate programs that can be pursued jointly with the MPA to develop greater depth of expertise, such as Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management, Political Management, and Public Policy.
