Critical Leadership Training
The critical leadership training required to work across sectors to solve public problems and foster community betterment infuses USC Price’s MPP program, in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
- Leadership skill development tracks through core courses such as Cross-Sectoral Leadership, Public Formulation and Implementation, and the Policy Analysis Practicum (link to the Practicum section on the Web), in which students develop a consultation project for a real client.
- Our cutting-edge MPP laboratory develops intellectual fundamental in the areas of research, writing, and communications, as well as focused workshops in target areas such as network development and political communications.
- Students develop expertise by focusing on specializations such as philanthropy and public policy, environmental policy, health policy, public management, and transportation policy. For students who are interested in more advanced training, we offer several certificate programs that can be pursued jointly with the MPP to develop greater depth of expertise, such as Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management and Policy, Political Management, and Public Management.
