Length of Degree and Completion Rates

Most students pursue the MPP program as full-time students and complete the program in two-three years. Students may also enroll in the MPP program as part time and may complete the program in three-five years. The time limit for completing a master’s degree at USC is five years.

Students who enter the MPP program have a high completion rate. Of the students who have enrolled in the program between 2010 and 2015, 85% completed the program within two years, 90% within three years, and 90% within five years. The program’s retention rate over the last 10 years is 92%*. The average time to complete the program for students entering between 2010 and 2015 is 1.82 years.
