The DCI Application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the department head. Completed applications should be emailed to dci@usc.edu, or mailed to:

Financial Aid

The majority of participants in DCI are law enforcement officers or other criminal justice professionals whose agencies are unable to finance the total institute cost without assistance. Many of the institute’s participants receive tuition assistance from private foundations, donors or corporations.

The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) has certified the institute and reimburses California, city or county general funds for travel and living expenses under P.O.S.T. Plan IV, which does not include tuition. Living expenses for the six-week period have been estimated at $3,570 (double) – $5,208 (single) in addition to travel expenses.

Tuition

DCI tuition for the 2010-2011 academic year is $8,160 ($1,360 per unit).
