Price Student Q&A: Catherine Negroni

Hometown: Rockville Centre, NY
Major: Urban Studies and Planning

Q. What inspired you to choose your major?

A. I chose the Urban Planning major because I want to be able to foster real change in communities both here and abroad.

Q. What opportunities has Price afforded you?

A. The ability to study Urban Planning while only 5 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

Q. What skills have you developed in your time at Price?

A. As a price major, I have developed the ability to take theoretical knowledge and apply it to real-life cases.

Q. Tell us about your internship experience.

A. My first week of school, I was able to participate in a walking tour of downtown Los Angeles, where we met Price alumni who work in fields related to my major.

Q. What class have you enjoyed most at Price and why?

A. I have only taken PPD 225: Public Policy and Management, but have enjoyed learning about the framework of public policy and how policy makers ignite change in a community.

Q. What are your future career plans?

A. I hope to focus on designing better means of public transportation (such as making transportation systems more accessible and environmentally conscious) for cities like Los Angeles.

Q. What is the best advice anyone has given to you regarding your education?

A. To take every opportunity afforded to you, and to expand your knowledge through real-world experience.
