USC Price School of Public Policy

Price Student Q&A: Landon Domenico

Hometown: Laguna Hills, CA
Major: Real Estate Development

Q. What inspired you to choose your major?

A. I chose my RED major because of its unique approach to the real estate industry. It allows me to gain a full understanding of a project from the start to finish. Additionally, the major provides an insight of the city’s role in the process.

Q. What opportunities has Price afforded you?

A. Price has afforded me two fantastic opportunities. The first was a week-long trip to Detroit over the summer. Our class dealt with practical issues and asked us to provide real world solutions. Price is also granting me the opportunity to travel to London this spring break to study its mixed-use development.

Q. What skills have you developed in your time at Price?

A. As a price major, I have developed skills in multiple different fields such as: policy, urban planning, design, finance, and market analysis.

Q. Tell us about your internship experience.

A. The past two summers I have worked with the Irvine Company in Orange County. I worked in their office division where I was exposed to property acquisitions and stand-alone presentations.

Q. What class have you enjoyed most at Price and why?

A. I would say my capstone class with John Loper was my favorite class. Students were given a unique opportunity to study a declining city and develop practical solutions to development projects. Furthermore, Professor Loper was very helpful and flexible with every student’s schedule.

Q. What are your future career plans?

A. My future career plan is to become an analyst at a real estate firm. From there I will have a broad understanding of the industry that will hopefully give me answers of what to do from there.

Q. What is the best advice anyone has given to you regarding your education?

A. “Don’t bring sand to the beach.” – Ryan
