Center for Sustainable Cities
The USC Center for Sustainable Cities conducts multidisciplinary research, education and planning and policy outreach efforts on the environmental, social and economic sustainability challenges facing metropolitan regions, and contributes to the development of public policy and planning that improves the natural and human environment of cities.
Its research focus on sustainable development involves policy, planning and development experts, engineers, and natural and social scientists in resolving complex urban environmental problems.
Through degree and certificate programs, it offers sustainability education for both graduate and undergraduate students. The planning and policy outreach efforts of the Center bring the results of Center research to those who can utilize them by encouraging more sustainable private or corporate behavior and the design or restructure of public policies and programs.
