Policy and Practice is currently seeking senior editors!

Policy and Practice is a student-run academic journal comprised of all disciplines within the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. Policy and Practice publishes academic research and in-depth policy reports that address global issues on a multi-disciplinary level. The goal of the jounal is to promote discourse amongst graduate and post-graduate students of the Public Policy, Public Administration, Real Estate Development, Health Administration, and Planning degree programs by encouraging students to produce work that will be reviewed by a committee comprised of their faculty and peers.

The journal acts as a stepping stone between the realms of the academic and professional careers of USC Price graduate students by allowing students to showcase their work to faculty, alumni, and potential employers.

Policy and Practice is currently seeking editors and club officers for next year’s edition. Editors will be in charge of a call for submissions within all USC Price masters and post-graduate degree programs, reviewing and editing articles for next year’s publication, and working together on a final online copy. The Editorial Committee is comprised of 2 students from each academic program at USC Price. We are currently seeking applications from those who are graduating in May 2013 or later.

Position Description: Senior Editors (two from each graduate and post-graduate program), Web Manager, Financial Officer, Alumni-Relations Officer

Qualifications:

Successful applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in an USC Price graduate program, graduating in May 2013 or later
  • Possess strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Have a strong academic track record
  • Be well-organized and attentive to detail
  • Have experience with Google Docs and MS Office Suite; Website Design experience is a plus
  • Be able to commit 5 hours a week

The current Editorial Committee will be reviewing applications. The committee will take into account each candidate’s set of skills and background, focusing on each applicant’s experiences in research, writing and leadership.
