Leading Through DEI

Builds from our values of humility, well-being, and social responsibility.

How has your leadership style evolved within the past year?

What comes to mind when you reflect on your leadership approach?

Looking ahead, how can you employ a leadership approach to effectively address diversity, equity, and inclusion?

The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, Executive Education, in partnership with the American Society for Public Administration, will facilitate instruction and foster discussions around the following core principles:

  • Self and Social Awareness and Management
  • Cultural Humility
  • Empathy
  • Courage

The 1 month program is designed for senior and emerging public service executives who are eager to develop and challenge their leadership values within the scope of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Leading Through DEI

“Structural racism has a detrimental effect on what we in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office hold most sacred: public safety. It’s paramount that all working groups particularly those in public service develop and hone their leadership values with the goal of building stronger pipelines to racial and social diversity. USC Price’s Leading Through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program has helped move my office forward in furthering these crucial efforts.”

George Gascón
District Attorney, County of Los Angeles

“The Leading Through DEI series offered by USC Sol Price School of Public Policy truly opened my eyes to what it means to be a leader in today’s society filled with civil unrest, social injustice and inequity. My cohort members, facilitators and instructors provided a safe space for us to have brave conversations about DEI that historically were forbidden. Having the opportunity to learn and share with so many passionate professionals was life changing. I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time and have come to truly appreciate the value that diversity and inclusion bring to the my organization.”
