2012 Dean’s Speaker Series – Future of California Thank You
On behalf of Dean Jack H. Knott, we want to thank you for attending our recent Dean’s Speaker Series event, hosted by the Athenian Society. Our guests attended the event to hear Price School faculty members discuss the future of California. As this discussion marked the last of the Dean’s Speaker Series events for the academic year, we were especially thrilled to receive such a strong turnout for this important topic.
This event showcased the USC Price School and contributed to the public dialogue on many of the most pressing challenges within our state. Professors Kevin Starr and Dowell Myers reflected on the state’s rich history, and discussed the future social and economic impact of California’s changing demographic trends. Bridging the past and the future, the event juxtaposed traditional anti-immigration sentiments against a new socially cohesive narrative that offers hope for reconciling a proud past with the changing needs of our state.
As the core philanthropic support group for the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, the Athenian Society is committed to providing first class events and continued access to the School and its networks. Members of the Athenian Society are invited to attend exclusive events throughout the year, and receive many other members-only benefits.
