Justin Cheng is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (POIR) with interests in American Political Development and Federal Institutions. Specifically, he is interested in the interplay between the legislature and bureaucratic system and how the historical contexts of the past influence trends today. In June of 2022, he graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a double major in Political Science and Public Policy with concentrations in Institutions and Economic Policy. At UC Riverside, he is affiliated with the Dionne Publicly Engaged Research Lab (DPERL) where he conducted research related to Malawian health trends. He also served as a Summer Research Intern at the California Policy Lab where he investigated credit and mobility trends using the novel UC Consumer Credit Panel data.
