Students are encouraged to strengthen ties to the real estate industry through membership in professional organizations. The Urban Land Institute (ULI), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and NAIOP are among the organizations that offer useful services, conferences, and publications. Many of the professional organizations offer special rates for student members.
Trojan Real Estate Association
The USC Trojan Real Estate Association provides a forum for undergraduate students to establish their network of contacts, a necessary resource for the industry. Each year TREA hosts alumni speaker panels, site visits to projects under construction, and opportunities to meet with real estate employers.
Under an articulation agreement between the California Department of Real Estate and USC, certain RED courses fulfill a portion of the requirements for the California real estate sales or broker license.
