Lannie Tonnu, MBA, CPA, CGMA, has been the Chief Financial Officer for Orthopaedic Institute for Children and Orthopaedic Institute for Children Foundation since August 2016, and for Orthopaedic Institute for Children Holding Corp since its formation. She is in charge of the Institute’s financial affairs including strategic and financial projection, decision support, investment and information technology. She staffs the Institute’s Finance, Investment and Audit Committees of the board. Lannie Tonnu is also a Board member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Front Porch, a not-for-profit organization that provides senior living communities, and an Audit Committee member for Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
Lannie Tonnu was previously the Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (“CHLA”) for over 25 years, where she served as an executive sponsor for numerous performance improvement projects, and was responsible for the management of the hospital’s $500 million public debts and for the investment of the hospital’s $550 million investment pool. While at CHLA, Ms. Tonnu also served as Treasurer for the California Children Hospital Association.
Prior to CHLA, Ms. Tonnu was an Audit Senior Manager with Ernst & Young, where she had held progressive positions in the Audit Department for twelve years. She worked with numerous health care clients both on audit and consulting engagements.
Lannie Tonnu is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. She has an MBA with an emphasis in Information Technology from California State University Los Angeles. Ms. Tonnu has been recognized as one of the 150 Hospital & Health System CFOs to Know and one of the 130 Woman Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review for many years.
