The mission of the Price School of Public Policy (USC Price) is to educate leaders and produce knowledge that improves public problem solving on the most critical issues facing society. The ultimate goal is to contribute in a practical way to the betterment of communities here and abroad. USC is one of the nation’s major research universities, and USC Price is a renowned contributor to the university’s reputation.
Since 1971, USC Price has offered graduate degrees and executive leadership programs in public administration and in health management and policy at the USC State Capital Center in Sacramento and has graduated over 570 students from its Master of Public Administration and Master of Health Administration programs at the State Capital Center. Graduates of USC Price hold important positions in government at all levels, in the business world, and in the nonprofit sector. Many remain closely associated with the school and play important roles in its leadership, research agenda, curriculum development, networking for students and graduates, and resource development.
At the USC State Capital Center, our custom-designed leadership programs, with world-class faculty, contributes to the leadership skills of thousands of public-sector and nonprofit professionals each year, on every level of government from local to international. The leadership programs are interactive seminars designed for skill building and development of leadership abilities. Lessons from these seminars can and should be taken from the classes and applied to the public and nonprofit sectors. The curricula provide real approaches to real problems, and the courses are expressly designed so participants can begin using lessons immediately in the workplace.
