For over 40 years, two significant core values have distinguished the faculty, students and alumni of the graduate programs at the USC State Capital Center (SCC). The first value, Making a Difference, fills our students and alumni with confidence and strengthens their commitment to public, private and not-for-profit service. Our distinguished full-time and adjunct faculty and Advisory Board members are also characterized by this will to make a difference. They contribute their time and knowledge to developing an academic curriculum that is rigorous and relevant.
A second value that characterizes individuals affiliated with the USC Master of Public Administration Sacramento program is a Passion for Learning. Students in the MPA Sacramento program benefit not only from university connections to the legislative and executive branches of state government, but also to prominent nonprofit and private sector organizations. In seminar-style courses, students apply the theoretical research they study. They collaborate with faculty and classmates to explore current challenges in public administration.
All courses for the MPA are offered at the SCC, which is located just a few blocks from the California State Capitol. Students participating in the MPA Sacramento program network with some of the most influential elected officials and government, nonprofit, and private sector leaders in California.
