Dean’s Merit Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission to entering USC Price students pursuing the Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management (MNLM), Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Urban Planning (MUP), Master of Public Policy (MPP), or Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree. Award amounts are dependent on availability of funds, the academic merit of the applicant and, in most cases, are renewable for a second year assuming satisfactory academic progress is made. Fellows receive a number of benefits, including scholarships and opportunities to network with local government professionals. The Price School is committed to educating the next generation of civic leaders and welcomes the opportunity to provide advanced academic training to alumni of the City Hall Fellows Program. Fellowships are awarded in recognition of the students’ work as City Hall Fellows and their commitment to public service.
Admitted students who apply by the scholarship deadline are eligible to receive a $10,000 fellowship ($5,000 per year; renewable for a second year, assuming satisfactory academic progress is made). Price School fellowships are awarded on the basis of merit, so many City Hall Fellows Program alumni may be eligible for additional funding through Dean’s Merit Scholarships. A joint program between USC Price and Colombia’s COLFUTURO for graduate study at the Price School of Public Policy. The scholarship supports students from Colombia who will enroll in one of the USC Price two-year master’s degree programs. Colombian students selected to receive COLFUTURO funding will also receive a $10,000 scholarship each year (for two years). Application deadline: December 15.

Scholarships for graduate student granted through the agreement between USC Price and Mexico’s National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) support students from Mexico who enroll in a USC Price School two-year master’s degree program. Students selected to receive CONACYT funding will also receive a $10,000 scholarship (renewable for a second year). Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.

Special $10,000 fellowships for alumni of the Coro Fellows program may be awarded in recognition of the work, public service, and contributions of Coro Fellows. This award will be disbursed over a two year period ($5,000 per year). Coro alumni may be eligible for additional funding through Dean’s Merit Scholarships. In recognition of the significant contributions of Peace Corps volunteers, USC Price signed a formal agreement to participate in the Peace Corps Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program (formerly Fellows/USA). Financial assistance is provided to Returning Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) who wish to pursue a USC Price graduate degree. These $10,000 fellowships ($5,000 per year, renewable for a second year assuming satisfactory academic progress is made) also require RPCV’s complete an internship that benefits an underserved community. RPCVs may be eligible for additional funding through Dean’s Merit Scholarships. Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.
Applicants to the MPA, MPP, MUP, and MHA programs who have completed a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute will be considered for the Public Policy and International Affairs Scholarships. Students admitted to these programs who apply by the scholarship deadline are eligible to receive a $10,000 fellowship ($5,000 per year, renewable for a second year assuming satisfactory academic progress is made). PPIA Fellows may be eligible for additional funding through Dean’s Merit Scholarships. Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.
USC Price will provide advanced graduate training for a select group of Republic of Korea employees enrolled in the USC Price MPA, MPP and MUP programs. Applicants with outstanding academic credentials, strong English skills, recommendations, and financial support from the Korean government may qualify for a $24,000 scholarship ($12,000 per year, renewable for a second year assuming satisfactory academic progress is made) from USC Price. Korean government officials will complete an internship along with their studies. Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.
In recognition of their work to support of our society’s educational system, a special $10,000 scholarship ($5,000 per year, renewable for a second year assuming satisfactory academic progress is made) is available for alumni of Teach for America. Teach for America alumni may be eligible for greater funding through Dean’s Merit Scholarships. Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.
The Price School Leadership in Diversity Fellowships recognize entering graduate students who demonstrate strong leadership abilities and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice. Students entering the Master of Health Administration, Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management, Master of Planning, Master of Public Administration, and Master of Public Policy programs will be considered. These awards consist of full-tuition scholarships.
To apply, students must complete the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and Leadership in Diversity Fellowship application, which is part of the Price School supplemental online graduate application for admission. Applicants who are not selected for this fellowship will receive full consideration for a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Application deadline: December 15 for fall enrollment.
Each year, the Dollinger MRED program awards a limited number of scholarships to entering students.
USC Price is proud to partner with the U.S. Veterans Administration in providing VA Yellow Ribbon benefits to qualified students. The Price School has allocated funds for 23 Yellow Ribbon Awards each year at up to $5,000 for each award.
The Yellow Ribbon Program provides additional funding for veterans who wish to attend private institutions. Funds can be used to meet any or all unmet tuition/fee needs, but cannot exceed the total cost of tuition and fees. To qualify for Yellow Ribbon benefits, students must be eligible for the maximum benefit rate (100%) under the Post-9/11 GI Bill (based on service requirements).
To receive the Yellow Ribbon Program benefits students must be admitted to the university and registered for classes. Once enrolled, submit the following packet to USC’s School Certifying Official:
Take your certificate of eligibility to the Veterans Certification Office and ask them to certify your enrollment to the VA, including Yellow Ribbon. Per federal regulations, eligible recipients will be selected on a first-come/first-served basis.
Note: The university must certify your enrollment to the VA; you may not do so yourself.
