Alice Chen is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy.
Chen is a health economist whose research focuses on the interactions between health insurance, access to care, and labor markets. Her dissertation examined how physicians respond to changes in Medicaid payment and eligibility, and it was awarded the American Society of Health Economist’s Biennial Student Paper Award. Current projects include studies of infant mortality in the U.S. relative to Europe, returns to Medicare expenditures, and changes in inequality and mobility.
Prior to earning her MBA and PhD in Business Economics from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, Chen graduated with an AB and SM in applied math from Harvard.
