LT Christina Perez grew up in Littleton, Massachusetts. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2016 with a Bachelors in Science in Economics and subsequently gained her commission in the United States Navy. Following her studies, her first tour of duty was onboard the USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79) out of Norfolk, VA from August 2016 to January 2019. She first served as the Electrical Officer and then as the Strike Officer and Command Legal Officer. She deployed to the Second, Fifth, and Sixth Fleet Areas of Responsibility. After obtaining her Surface Warfare Pin and Engineering Officer of the Watch qualification, she started working for DESRON 26. As lead mission planner as part of Task Force 49, she led in the planning and execution of an international humanitarian mission, ENDURING PROMISE 2018, bringing medical aid and assisting 26,000 patients to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Honduras via the USNS Comfort. Her second sea tour was as the Navigator and Administrative Department Head onboard the USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52), homeported in San Diego, CA. During this tour, she gained her Tactical Action Officer qualification and completed the Basic, Advanced, and the Integrated phase prepping the ship for deployment. She currently is serving as an Officer Instructor teaching Navigation and Naval Operations at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Her personal awards include two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
