Hello, my name is Crystal Miranda. I have been with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for 33 years. I have a Master’s degree in public administration, a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Studies of Vocational Arts and an Associate in Science degree in Administration of Justice. I believe education is the great equalizer. I’m currently assigned to Court Services Division. I have 18 years of patrol experience at all ranks from deputy, field training officer, detective, sergeant and lieutenant. I was a lieutenant for 7 years, a station watch commander for 3 years, in Recruitment for 1 year, in gang suppression working the area of Compton and Century Stations, along with Industry, Lakewood, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, and Temple Sheriff’s Stations for 2 years. Additionally, I was an aide to Assistant Sheriff Cecil Rhambo for 1 year. I’ve been a captain for 9 years. I worked for 2 years at Custody/Courts Transportation, which is the transportation of inmates throughout Los Angeles and various counties. I’ve spent the last 8 years at Court Services Division East Bureau, where I command 435 personnel, and oversee the security of 15 courthouses, which include inmates, court personnel, the public, and security over 175 judges on a daily basis.
