USC Price School ascends to No. 2 in 2019 U.S. News & World Report rankings
A Message from Dean Jack H. Knott
I am proud to announce that our school is now ranked as No. 2 among the 282 public affairs schools nationwide in the just-released 2019 U.S. News & World Report for Best Graduate Schools in Public Affairs. This reflects a steady rise in our rankings.
U.S. News also ranks public affairs categories within schools, and this year we are ranked No. 1 in Urban Policy. In other signature categories we also received high rankings: Health Policy and Management (No. 3), Public Management and Leadership (No. 4), Local Government Management (No. 4), Public Policy Analysis (No. 6) and Homeland/National Security (No. 3). A full list can be found online at https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-public-affairs-schools.
I attribute this steady ascent in the rankings to our exceptional faculty, students, and staff, who are deeply committed to fulfilling our mission to improve the quality of life for people and their communities, here and abroad.
I am also grateful for our dedicated donors, friends and alumni who support our school with their time, effort and generosity. Your support plays an indelible role in making the Price School a leader in public affairs.
While rankings have their limitations (for example, U.S. News & World Report does not rank our outstanding real estate degree program, which I believe is one of the very best in the nation) and are not the sole definition of a great school, this news clearly reflects the Price School’s upward trajectory over the last several years. It is deeply gratifying that our peers have ranked us one of the very best in the nation.
I am equally proud of who we are, what we stand for, and the significant role each of us plays as part of our amazing USC Price School community.
Jack H. Knott, Dean
