Sophia Helland

Sophia Helland is a Ph.D. Candidate at USC in Public Policy and Management with a particular interest in American political institutions and their impact on public policy decision making. As an undergraduate, she studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics as well as Public Policy at Claremont McKenna College. There, she served as the Student Manager at the Rose Institute for State and Local Government and managed the CMC Public Policy Analysis Lab. She went on to work as a research assistant at Columbia Law School where she conducted quantitative research on bankruptcy law, corporate finance, and health economics.
