Current USC Student Change of Major
Current USC students are invited to review the information below to learn more about adding the Real Estate Development major. Submit a BRED Major Interest Form so we are aware of your interest and intent to get the process started.
Change of Major Admission Requirements
Current USC students must satisfy the following requirements prior to admission:
- Minimum cumulative USC GPA of 2.7
- Completion of ECON 203 or ECON 351 Microeconomics
- Fulfill MATH requirement by either:
- Completion of one from: MATH 108, MATH 117, Math 118, or MATH 125
- USC placement test score into MATH 125 (no MATH class required)
- AP calculus score of 4 or 5
Incoming USC students can add the Real Estate Development major before Orientation and through week three of their first semester. Prerequisites for admission:
- Incoming Freshman
- Completion of MATH placement exam
- Incoming Transfer
- Completion of transfer course equivalent to ECON 203 Microeconomics
- Fulfill MATH requirement by either:
- Completion of transfer course equivalent to any one of: MATH 108, MATH 117, Math 118, or MATH 125
- USC placement test score into MATH 125 (no MATH class required)
- AP calculus score of 4 or 5

Submit a BRED Interest Form to let us know your interest. We will reach out with suggestions for next semester. NOTE: The BRED major requires a minimum of five semesters to complete. So be sure to plan accordingly.
3. Enroll in Pre-Admission Courses
Enroll in these courses before applying for admission.

- MATH 117 (admission prerequisite)
- ECON 203 (admission prerequisite)
- RED 200 (major core course)

Semester While Awaiting Admission Decision
- ACCT 410 (major core course)
- PPD 245 (major course and GE-C – request D-clearance here)
- GE
- GE or WRIT or minor class
4. Apply for Admission
Students must complete admission requirements before applying. Admission decisions are made after semester grades are available. Once admissions requirements are complete, reach out to Bella Benson ([email protected]) to continue the change of major process.
Deadlines to apply:
- Fall admission: August 20
- Summer admission: May 20
- Spring admission: December 20
