Nate Munson

Biography

Nate Munson is currently a Senior Director within the Investment Group at American Realty Advisors based in Los Angeles. Nate is responsible for the oversight and sourcing of new equity and debt real estate investments in the West Region, as well as the management of ARA’s West Region investment team. American Realty Advisors is a SEC registered real estate investment advisor with $11B of assets under management primarily in two opened ended fund vehicles – an ODCE Core Fund and a Value Fund.

Prior to American, Nate spent 20 years at AEW Capital Management with progressively senior roles in the Acquisition and Asset Management functions. Over his tenure at AEW, he led transactions across diverse asset types and played a key role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy on the West Coast. He also was involved in many aspects of managing AEW’s west coast portfolio. Early in his career he held positions at Schnitzer Properties in Acquisitions, CBRE Global Investors on the Strategic Partners team. 

Nate started his career working in the real estate groups of KinderCare Learning Centers and Kroger Company.

Nate is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, where he has taught Advanced Real Estate Financial Analysis since 2022. Mr. Munson holds a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and earned a MBA from the University of Southern California, with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance. Nate has three children who he loves to spend time with, often dragging them to snowboard, surf, mountain bike, and rock climb. Nate is an avid live music fan, you’ll find him at the small Los Angeles venues very often, even on school nights.
