Biography
Jze’Lun Johnson is a Master of Nonprofit Leadership & Management student at the USC Price School of Public Policy and a recipient of the Price Scholars for Community Enrichment award. Originally from East Oakland, California, he is dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity through nonprofit leadership and youth development.
Jze’Lun serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Project Optimism, where he supports the organization’s signature Project Optimism’s Mentoring Sessions (POMS) program. In this role, he leads mentoring sessions that integrate social-emotional learning to help students grow personally and academically. He also organizes community events such as the Power of Giving Back to School and Toy Drive family experiences, which strengthen connections, provide resources, and celebrate community resilience.
His long-term goal is to expand initiatives that prepare the next generation and the communities around them while addressing systemic barriers to success. As a Price Scholar, Jze’Lun is committed to using his education and experience to make a lasting impact both locally and nationally.
