Biography

Since 2022, Steve has lectured and served as an adjunct professor at USC, teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. His curriculum includes cybersecurity, MBA-level crisis management, and courses in the Public Safety Leadership Program. He is also an instructor in the U.S. DoS Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program. Steve has guest lectured at FBI Headquarters, U.S. Cyber Command, Tel Aviv University, Northwestern, InfraGard, “The Farm,” and The Wall Street Journal.

His diverse career has spanned nearly 50 years, working and living in over 50 countries. Between 2002 and 2018, he served with Sony Pictures Entertainment/SONY as Executive Vice President of Global Protection Services. In July 2018, he founded Bernard Global, LLC, a provider of risk and resilience services. His time in the U.S. Army included a tour in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. During his 12 years in municipal policing, he also graduated from the FBI National Academy. Steve has been a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) since 1991.

Prior to Sony, Steve worked in key leadership roles in high-tech, oil and gas, and law enforcement before launching his own consulting business in 2018. He currently serves as a senior security advisor for International SOS, CSA, Prescient, and Metro One/Specialized.
