Biography

Nicholas Zaharov leads real estate development efforts in Southern California markets for DWS Group (RREEF), a leading global real estate investment management firm with over $75 billion in real estate AUM and a 50-year heritage as a fiduciary manager of commercial real estate. In his career, Nick has managed and been responsible for over $1.9 billion in completed developments in all aspects of the development process, including due diligence and underwriting, land acquisition, JV structuring, entitlement, pre-development, construction oversight, asset stabilization, and disposition. This expertise and deal experience extends across all major asset classes, including multifamily residential (over 4,000 units), retail, office, industrial, hotel, and mixed-use typologies.

Prior to DWS, Nick was Director of Development at Carmel Partners, a San Francisco based investor and vertically integrated developer of luxury multifamily real estate, and was an Associate at CIM Group, a Los Angeles community-focused real estate developer and owner on behalf of institutional investors.

Nick received a Master of Real Estate Development degree from USC and a Bachelor of Architecture degree with Honors from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Minor in Real Property Development. Earlier in his career, Nick designed and managed the delivery of high-end custom homes for a boutique firm in Montecito, California.
