Angelo Farooq

Biography

Angelo Farooq served as the Chairman of the National Association of State Workforce Boards (2023-2025), elected by bipartisan governor administrations nationwide to advise the White House and Congress on workforce policy across two presidential administrations (from opposing parties). He continues this leadership as Immediate Past Chair of California’s Workforce Development Board (after serving as Chairman for six and a half years)—a $6 billion annual system governing all federal workforce funds and over 200 America Job Centers. He also founded the national AI/Quantum Workforce Task Force (administered by the National Governors Association), aligning state leaders with the White House’s AI Action Plan and showcasing best practices for AI workforce development and public-private partnerships.

Angelo also serves as Co-Chair of California Treasurer Fiona Ma’s Housing, Economic Development, and Opportunity Zone Advisory Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Council, where he also co-chairs the Workforce of the Future Committee

Angelo is the General Partner with AlphaX RE Capital (Silicon Valley based real estate development company with +$600 million combined in assets under management & construction). He is also President of Business & External Affairs at Zeitro, an AI-powered fintech platform processing $350M in monthly mortgage transactions, where he drives the deployment of artificial intelligence at scale under complex regulatory frameworks.

Angelo earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Berkeley, Executive Master of Leadership and Doctorate of Policy, Planning & Development degrees from the University of Southern California.
