Bocconi University, Italy
The USC Price School of Public Policy signed an agreement to establish a student exchange program with Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (Bocconi University), a leading private research university in Milan, Italy, effective August 2015. The collaboration promotes academic linkages and educational relations between the two institutions through student exchanges in the field of public policy.
Brazilian School of Public Administration and Management (EBAPE), Brazil
Located in Rio de Janerio, EBAPE is one of Brazil’s premier public administration schools and has trained many of the country’s elite scholars and civil servants. Since 2004, EBAPE, a part of Fundação Getulio Vargas – a leading private university in Brazil – has collaborated with USC Price on the international student Lab in Brazil. The Price School signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EBAPE in 2008.
China Academy for Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD)
CAUPD is a division under the Chinese Ministry of Construction, the government entity that oversees all urban development in the country. CAUPD has welcomed USC Price graduate students on a yearly basis since 2004. A Memorandum of Understanding between CAUPD and the Price School was signed in 2008.
Emergent Institute, Banagalore, Karnataka, India
The USC Price Bedrosian Center on Governance and the Public Enterprise signed an MOU in May 2013 to partner with India’s Emergent Institute. As part of this agreement, an exchange program was launched between government leaders in California and the Indian state of Karnataka. This initiative builds the working capacity of state and local government officials, promotes best practices of good governance, and highlights innovative solutions and effective structural approaches to public policy challenges at the state and local level.
Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University (GSPA SNU)
Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Public Administration is a leading South Korean institution, focused on public affairs and administration. The Price School signed a formal agreement with GSPA to promote mutual cooperation through academic programs, professional training, scholarly research, and institutional development in the areas of public policy and urban planning, as well as student exchanges.
Hertie School of Governance, Germany
The Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, an international professional school of public policy for teaching and research, offers an exchange program to USC Price graduate students. The program provides opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, and perspective necessary to succeed in a global marketplace.
Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA)
KIPA, a research organization sponsored by the government of the Republic of Korea, collaborates with the Price School on issues related to emerging civil society. The Price School signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KIPA in 2007.
Korea Transport Institute (KOTI)
KOTI, an official research agency for the government of the Republic of Korea, is the country’s premier think tank committed to the development of national transportation policies. The Price School signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KOTI in 2011.
Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, Israel
The Lauder school resides within the Interdisciplinary Center Herzilya, Israel’s first private college. A Memorandum of Understanding, signed with the Price School in 2012, promotes cooperation in the areas of counter-terrorism and natural disaster management through student and faculty exchanges, international teaching labs, teleconferenced workshops, and collaborative research.
Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS), Republic of Korea
MOPAS advocates for efficiency in governance through policy development and collaboration between central and local government. A partnership established with the Price School provides graduate education and training for selected MOPAS civil service officials. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Price School and the Korean government was signed in 2009.
National Council of Science and Technology, Mexico
USC Price and Mexico’s National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) signed an agreement in 2013 to grant scholarships for graduate study at the Price School. The agreement supports students from Mexico who enroll in Price’s two-year master’s degree programs.
Peace Corps
Since 1961 the Peace Corps, a volunteer program administered by the United States government, has advanced the cause of peace through volunteered living and working in developing countries. California enrolls more Peace Corps volunteers than any other U.S. state, a large percentage of whom are USC alumni.
The Price School signed a formal agreement with the Corps in 2008 to participate in the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program (formerly known as Fellows/USA), a graduate fellowship program that offers volunteers financial assistance toward graduate studies upon their return from service.
School of Government, Peking University (PKU), China
PKU is the first established modern university in China. Located in Beijing, PKU’s School of Government collaborates with the Price School on its international student Labs. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2004.
School of Public Policy and Management, Korean Development Institute
The Korean Development Institute is a leading think tank for the areas of economic and social development in South Korea. The KDI School of Public Policy and Management, established in 1997, focuses on key policy challenges and international issues, helping prepare students for success in today’s increasingly global economy. The MOU is an educational collaboration between the Price School’s International Public Policy and Management (IPPAM) program and KDI School of Public Policy and Management’s Global Master’s Program.
State of Gujarat, India
USC Price established a long-term institutional relationship with the state of Gujarat in western India (with over 60 million people). The Memorandum of Understanding, signed in 2011, promotes joint research and exchanges between faculty and students through an affiliates program. The agreement links the Price School to the Center for Excellence in Energy and Environment as well as the Center for Excellence in Infrastructure, both funded by the Gujarat government and housed in the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s largest city.
State of São Paulo, Brazil
The USC Price School of Public Policy signed an MOU in 2013 with the State of São Paulo, Brazil, to promote joint research and educational opportunities between the institutions. Under the agreement, USC Price, the State of São Paulo, and the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of São Paulo (USP) explore educational and research exchanges in such areas as community and economic development, urban governance, environmentally sustainable development, transportation, and real estate and housing.
Tsinghua University, China
Tsinghua University, located in Beijing, links to the Price School through Price’s International Public Policy and Management (IPPAM) program. IPPAM is designed for mid-career professionals with experience in government, nonprofit agencies or business firms engaged in the design, planning and management of social programs and services. The Price School signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tsinghua University in 2005.
World Bank
The World Bank, an international financial institution based in Washington, D.C., provides loans to developing countries for capital programs that aid in reducing poverty. In 2009, USC Price signed a Memorandum of Understanding with World Bank, linking research and academic expertise with field programs in Asia and the Pacific Rim. The agreement seeks to promote collaboration in areas such as climate change, renewable energy, infrastructure, urban and rural development, financial planning, and education.
Yonsei University (Department of Public Administration), Republic of Korea
In 2014, the USC Price School of Public Policy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Public Administration at Yonsei University to facilitate academic collaboration in public policy and urban planning. Yonsei University, located in Seoul, is Korea’s oldest private university. Proposed activities include educational programs, professional training, scholarly research and institutional development.
